Brexit Withdrawal Agreement Full Text

The Declaration on the Future Relationship between the European Union and the United Kingdom, also known as the Political Declaration, is a non-binding declaration, negotiated and signed at the same time as the binding and more comprehensive Withdrawal Agreement in the context of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (EU), commonly known as Brexit, and the planned end of the transition period. (*1) The Union shall inform the other Parties to this Agreement that the United Kingdom is to be treated as a Member State during the transition period for the purposes of this Agreement. RECOGNISING the need to establish, with a view to an orderly exit of the United Kingdom from the Union, in a separate Protocol to this Agreement, the special arrangements applicable to Gibraltar, in particular during the transitional period, the United Kingdom has initiated the process of formal negotiation of withdrawal by formally announcing to the European Council its intention to leave the EU. 2. If the Union and the United Kingdom fail to reach an agreement on the conformity of the notified measure with the provisions of this Agreement within forty-five days of the filing of the notification, either Party may request in writing the original arbitration panel to rule on the matter. This request shall be communicated simultaneously to the other Party. .
